BIRTH AND POSTPARTUM DOULA SERVICES

Physical, Emotional, Informational, Practical Support When You Need It Most

I've been in the field of maternal child health for over a decade in the role of a labor nurse and now as a pediatric nurse.  I've cherished this career with all my heart.  But I must confess, while working as a labor nurse I always felt drawn to the unique responsibilities that doulas held during birth, and the profound positive impact their presence could have for a birthing person.

Inspired by my professional experiences, while pregnant with my third child, I searched for a knowledgeable, experienced and kind doula to work with.  I must admit that I was incredibly nervous during my last pregnancy.  It took place during the peak of the pandemic and there were a great number of unknowns at the time.  Having my doula available to turn to for guidance, support and information to lean into during my pregnancy and as I prepared for birth was a gift to myself I didn't know I truly needed.

Working with her inspired me to pursue my own birth and postpartum doula certification. There is no greater gift than to be there to empower you to trust your own parental instincts during birth and postpartum, while providing support, guidance, and evidence based information when desired.

Please find the birth and postpartum doula services that I am able to offer through Strong as a Mother, and contact me for a consultation to see how I may best fit your family's needs at lauren@strongasamother.net or 845-641-8378.
